Mounting skate decks to a wall can be tedious and time consuming when using screws, and once the boards are mounted to the wall it becomes too difficult to remove them for use. The idea behind the Skate Mount was to be able to attach the artwork to the wall without any type of semi permanent system. The 3D printed prong-like bracket has a gap on the underside to be hung on a nail like some picture frames. Its holes squeeze wooden dowels that can be cut to measure for board thickness, and once the pieces are held tightly with friction alone, the piece can be hung on the wall with the board attached. Simply pull the board off the wallow unhang both the board and mount and later remove the mount from the board for use. This pair specifically uses ABS plastic and each took roughly 3 hours to print. Modeled in Rhino.
